We live in a new development that is not plowed consistently and I cannot run her. I have tried the treadmill, but she is scared of it. Any ideas that are not too expensive? (No doggy daycare available in my area)

I run my dobie all the time in the snow, once her feet start getting cold is when we stop. Do you have dog parks? Take her to one of those and let her run, or down around a lake/river if you can trust her offleash. My dobie loves running on the trials down in the park. If she's running you don't need any kind of sweater on her, but if you are just going to walk her I would recomment putting something on her. I've also seen some people go to LARGE empty parking lots and have their dog on a LONG lead and drive their car while their dog runs alongside (driving very slowly), they stop when the dog stops to smell things. I'm not a fan of this, but if you can't trust her offleash and you don't have any fenced in area where you can let her run around and play and she's scared of a treadmill this may be an alternative.

I run mine in the snow all the time in the winter.
I run them in my pasture and it is not plowed and some of the drifts are about 6 feet deep. They jump in a dig up and out.
Having two makes it easier as I turn mine out and watch them chase each other. I have one dobe and two weimaraners right now. They all chase and play.
I tried the treadmill but mine is sort of bored with it really fast.
Dobes are very high energy dogs and they need to be able to run and chase something. I used to put mine in the baseball field as it was fenced so I knew they would not run off. Now I can turn the loose and not worry but we are out in the middle of no where.

I used to have a hyper chocolate lab. If you want to get outside too, you could take her to dog parks if they're still open, or you could go outside in your back yard and just throw showballs for her. Dogs can be very entertained by snow.

If she plays fetch, that can burn up a lot of energy. The toys that you put food or treats in that have to be rolled around to dispense it can help. If she likes to be by your side (most Dobes do), play hide & seek. I have done all these things with my dogs & they love them!

a neighbor of mine has one who won't step foot on anything wet (rain or snow).
he'll go out to the carport to potty and come back in.
his owner built him a set of stairs that go up and down to put under the carport to exercise. the stairs look like an upside down V .

Put a sweater on her and just take 30-40 min walks when you get home.

Take her out in the snow. Let her play. Most dogs like playing in snow.

hmm, blow dry and put a doggie sweater (or if it fits, a human sweater) on your dobe. then walk her/play with her. she sounds sweet, :) good luck!
