Mohammed made that mistake. He assumed when he identified his god as "Allah" and pronounced him to be the same God as Jehovah - the god of the Jews and Christians, that they would just come along for the ride.
Jews, in particular, are rather sensitive about the whole "I am a jealous God. You will have no other God before me" - thing. They don't accept "Allah" any more than they accepted Ra.

The churches and temples do not teach God's will. The people are left to make up their own mind as to how to worship God. (Consider Matthew 7:15-27)
Did you know that there are infact only two religions, according to the Bible? The outward form of the many religions may appear different, but their core beliefs are often the same. For example, most religions believe in some sort of an afterlife reward-punishment system. Depending on which one you go to, you will either be rewarded for a good life by being sent to heaven or some other higher plain, etc; if you were bad, you will be punished or severely disciplined in Hell/Purgatory or be reincarnated as a lower life form. This system is based on the lie which was first recorded in the Bible in Genesis chapte 3 verse 1 to 5, which is that you will positively not die when you sin and your flesh ceeases to hold life within it.
Consider Ecclesiastes (:5,10 where we find that sinning souls die and that there no conciousness at all in Sheol or Hell, the place to which we are currently all going. When you die, you completely die and do not live on anywhere else.
However, there is a very real promise of a resurrection ontto the Earth, which was mankind's home in the first place. Consider John Chapter 11 where we read about the resurrection of lazarus and find a fascinating insight into what the Jews of the first century believed with regard to death and resurrection.

The whole world doesn't know that, for the simple reason that it is not true. People learn religion from their parents and other elements of society, and it is obvious that the myths behind religions will differ between societies, And there is no guarantee that any of it is true -- after all, once upon a time, people believed that the world was flat. Most of the world has figured out about the shape of the world, but much of it has not figured out about the shape of religion.

Because the whole world does *not* know that, friend.
There are those that do not believe there is a god.
There are those who believe there are many gods.
There are those who believe the one god they believe in has three parts.
Each of those beliefs spread out like branches on a tree.
Each one of them may be right, or may be wrong, but is the only way possible for each individual who believes their branch to be the best.

Man has created many religions (and many gods) in his attempt to reach the one true God who created him. Just as there are many types of people, there are many different ways of trying to reach God.
True Christianity, on the other hand, is not a religion. Christianity is not a man-made religion. Christianity is God reaching down to man.

The first prophet to reveal a doctrine based on one God was 'Zoroaster' there can be no argument about this Zoroaster
lived in Persia in the area now known as Iraq over four thousand years ago. There can be little doubt that Abram later Abraham was a follower of Zoroaster. Abraham left Mesopotamia about the same time as Zoroaster was betrayed by one of his disciples and burnt at the stake. Zoroaster's storey is nearly the same as Jesus. Those that wrote about Jesus copied that of Zoroaster's life but the storey tellers of Jesus had much more imagination. Just because Jesus was a myth it does not mean that God did not come into the equation. The actual storey of Jesus was a brilliant storey line of how a human being should be and those who wrote it were without knowing it possessed with the word of god as if Jesus really existed. The existence of Jesus Mohamed Buddha Ra etc is hardly important. What exactly do we expect, god to be like we all have different ideas depending on our own conception and who we have been listening to. No man living , dead or will ever live knows more about god than you me or any one else: to say they do would mean they are absolute liars and not Worth the time to listen. God is within man and man will control his destiny, God gave man a brain far superior than that of other animals on this planet. The brain was given to sought out the difference in good and evil only Zoroaster seems to have been able to come to terms with this but to exist all men what ever their race color will have to at some stage make a decision on the
place of god. Start to believe in good and being good and you will take the first step in finding the god you realy realy want. God bless you All.

The whole world does not know that "God is one". Many Pagans believe in many Gods.
And that should answer your question.

The whole point of religion is that the existence of god cannot be proved and is an act of faith. Therefore no one can know that she/it/he exists. To know something with certainty requires physical proof, and there is none.
Conversely, a lack of evidence is not proof that there is no god, but then you could say the same about the tooth fairy.

The whole world does not know that and therefore they must be informed that there are 2 ways to live. Man (generic) has for the most part chosen his (generic) own way because the 'god of this world' (Satan) has deceived them into believing that they can make up their own rules to try to reach God when God Himself has already provided the only way to reach Himself.
