Cow's milk is not bad for a baby. One of the old formulas when mother's could not breast-feed was cow's milk with a little corn syrup put in it. Do not switch your baby to formula now. She does not need it. Your friends will eventually switch their babies from formula to cow's milk. Your pediatrician was not wrong to put your baby on cow's milk at 6 months. Why would you believe that these 5 mothers know more about what is good for your baby than your pediatrician. The only way that cow's milk could be bad (and we know that your baby is not) is if the baby were allegic to it. (Also, if you will check formula list of ingredients, you will find that some of them have a cow's milk base.

My cousin started all of her children on cows milk at 6 months and they are fine. I would not have started my children that early but if i isn't bothering her then she should be ok. You are always going to have other mothers telling you what is good and bad for your child. Do whatever you feel is best for her. If she is healthy, growing properly, happy and not having any problems with the milk then she will be fine. Lastly what most over zealous mothers forget is that if a baby is giving formulas like Similac they are cow's milk based. There are soy formula but not everyone uses them. Keep on doing what you are doing she is your child don't worry what others tell you because you will always get conflicting advice.

Babies should be on formula until they are a year old. Cow's milk doesn't have all the nutrients that formula has.
Too late to change back now. There's no way that she'd drink it now because she's had the 'good stuff'. My baby gagged on 2nd stage formula that I tried to give to her for extra nutrients after she started cow's milk.

Your daughter will be fine drinking cows milk. My daughter started on cows milk when she was 10 months old I was breastfeeding and she would not take any of the formulas I offered her she took to caws milk and my doctor told me it was fine. She is now 7 years old and is healthy.

She's too old for formula now. The reason those mothers said what they said is that the American Academy of Pediatrics conducted studies that indicate that giving cows milk before 12 months can lead to lactose intolerance. Since she seems fine now and has not developed lactose intolerance there's no reason to worry.

When did cows milk become "bad"? LOL. Stop listening to everyone except your doctor and your own intuition. Your daughter will do just fine. When it comes to child rearing there are NO experts, and obviously the five mother's who scared you about the cows milk are far from being experts.

if u are really concerned on what milk to give ur daughter, take her off the cow milk and give her soy milk- not formula (she's too old for that) there's a soy milk that is called "silk" and they have many flavors like chocolate, very vanilla, vanilla and regular soy milk. my son loves the very vanilla flavor! it's actually pretty good- i drink it myself and it's fortified for kids and has many nutrients. try it and u'll see- and besides it isn't as heavy as regular cow milk and doesn't cause so much phlegm!

first off there is nothing in the world wrong with cows milk. Like you say she is growing healthy and active so, quit bothering yourself with it. Your pediatrician knows what he is talking about. So, just chill, she is too old to be put on formula. she will be just fine you will see

she cant be put on formula now, she can eat food like you eat, just in smaller sizes, my cuz is a gyno/baby doc, she says that they found a chemical in cows milk that can hurt the respirtory area later on in life if given to children under 12 mths in large amounts. im glad shes healthy.
