Since I do not have cable (for tv) in my home office, I would like to be able to watch tv sometimes when I'm up late. I've seen ads for TV Tuners for your computer, but I am confused as to how they work. Do you have to subscribe to something in order to get the programs, and if you do what kind of programs do you get? If anyone uses this please advise! Thanks!

A tv tuner turns your pc into a tv so if you have a tv but no cable/antenna reception then a tv tuner will only turn your pc into a second tv with nothing to watch... There's plenty of options for watching various channels/shows/movies streamed or downloaded from the Internet but you don't need a tv tuner to do that.

-edit 2- freebird, I think what you're talking about is not a regular tv tuner card but a digital tv receiver card/digital antenna unit... I don't think they have that in the USA yet, but I could be wrong.

u buy pci tv card put it inside ur computer,install the software which comes with it.thats it uget 200 channels.mine cost 60pound ucan get cheaper by the way you will need a digital ariel to plug into the back ov the tv card as they give u one but its not much good.its wos good the tv card but thats before ive come on the net as i av seen websites offering tv 4 free but i didnt join cus i didnt know if it was a scam or what. so u might as well check sites out first.tv card is good u get film 4,all the itv channels,all bbc channels uk sport ,kids channel ,discovery channels and plenty more , ihope u got this update

If you have a PC, you can use a TV tuner/Graphics card. A good one is from ATI, called the All-in-Wonder.

A TV tuner is just that ... you still need a signal (broadcast or cable) to give it something to do.
If you live in an area where there is a strong enough broadcast signal, you'll be able to pull the signal off the air. If not, you'll need cable or a satellite dish and receiver to give you a picture.
