Hi
I am Iraqi living in Jordan for temporarily period, I have the UK visa and would like to travel in UK and be as refuge. Does anyone know how long it takes to stay as a refuge status (or when the UK government decides to accept/reject me) and if they accept me as refuge can I travel out of UK or there is a certain time I should stay before leaving UK.

Thank you
Wisam

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can tell you what they *should* do.

After the mess that the west has created in your country, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths and forcing countless others to flee, the least they can do is open their doors for you in a timely fashion. Best of Luck :-)

This is a wind up isnt it. ! UK has changed its visas now, so you wont be allowed in at all. And Uk is not acceping any refugees into the country ever again. You cannot come in the country so you wont have to worry about time period for leaving. Have a nice day in Jordan !

If you have a visa then you are allowed to travel to the UK. If you want to claim asylum and stay in Britain for ever then you need to do that when you arrive. Go to clsdirect.org.uk that gives you information. However if you want to work here you might be better getting a visa that allows you to work. You can apply for British citizenship once you have lived and worked (you are not entitled to state benefits unless you work) for five years.
