I believe people speak out strongly of their own fears, he was pushing the fact that he was anti-gay to hide the fact that he was gay...it's just that simple. I'm not a practising Christian...just my opinion about the matter.

Just because some accuses, doesn;t make true...People in sgnificant positions are accused of untruths all the time. One has to presume innocent until proof is offered.

WHen you think of ANY occupation, they are a microcosm of the whole society. In other words, they likely have a percentage of criminals, gays, smart people, stupid people, and many other demographics.

That said, it can never be assumed that the clergy is immune to such things...we just expect better.

Whether it is a sin to be gay or not will haunt us for generations...to my view, if it is a sin, let those without sin cast the first stone...

I have always said, as a Christian myself, that if I do not or can not live the Life I am trying to let other people see, because anyone can profess Christianity, But their lives do not measure up to it, If I try to tell you I am a Christian & you see me in life & I am not portraying that image, Then you have the right to call me hypocrite, Just as this so call preacher is, Yes he is a hypocrite

It's really unfortunate, but it happens... The thing we must remember is, that these people are human and make mistakes. Men/Women of God who profess to be followers or believers should always set a good, positive example. Often times, ministers in high positions have no one to be accountable to. This makes them more vulnerable to sin and unacceptable practices. (This is no excuse to justify sin and immorality). People often get offended when I remind them that the Bible is a book of failures. Men/women of God have failed since the beginning of time, but God's mercy, grace and forgiveness allows us to move on and be about the business He (God) has called us to complete. "God loves the sinner and is married to the backslider", but we are still responsible for our actions......God sent His Son to die for sinners, not those who profess to be perfect. We all sin and make mistakes. My prayer for me is that I overcome the temptations I face in my life. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm human and screw up on a regular basis. It's not my intent, but my sinful nature. Thank God for His grace, mercy and forgiveness.........NMT

Why would someone report you for this question? Your question is valid. I think more questions like this should be asked. It keeps us accountable and more apt to walk the straight and narrow. There is only ONE who is without sin, and that's Christ. Hopefully, we can learn from this and avoid the same mistakes in the future.

You are right. That is a clear example hypocrisy. So was Jimmy Swaggert when they found pornography in his possession.Just one of the many stumbling blocks of a Christian.Christians cannot let their guard down.Their own personal battles with sin is never over until they die.

Peace be unto you.

When Jesus said you judge a tree by it's fruitage, he was directing the illustration to the wicked Pharisees.

The same holds true for today's false christian leaders.

I always knew Ted Haggard was a fake Piece of S h i t. Ever since Richard Dawkins gave him a religious smack down! Most evangelical Christian leaders are fake....its just sad that their simple minded followers suck up everything they say.

This is a very good question. It makes him not only a hypocrite but a liar too. The truth is not in him. Christians have just as much right to ask and answer questions as anyone else.

Praise God, indeed!

it's pretty wild, one time i watched a well known tv preacher specifically say how we needed to "grow old with grace" and give a whole sermon about how looks shouldn't be so important and all and then a few months later she got a face lift herself and now looks about 25 years younger than she is. i think it's also such hypocrisy.

Christians are not perfect - just forgiven. We still sin though. Also "he who is without sin, let me cast the first stone" - we are all sinners and should not judge - what if he is not guilty? It could be the media's mistake - they do make mistakes. Blessings.
