Hiya Sonny
lol lol lol he's got you wrapped round his little paw lol lol, i have 2 Jack's and boy oh boy are they stubborn, What you need to do Hun is get a tin dog food Butchers or pedigree chum, (a good brand) don't mix anything in this just give him the contents as his evening meal, give him his dry food in the morning/afternoon, make sure he has plenty of fresh water, if his wee is still dark, try and give him tin food only, dry food might not agree with him... :-)

Well, I recommend buying some vita gravy to put over the food. You mix this into a small amount of food for the dog, and the gravy smells just like people food. (He will think he is a king :)
Another thing I have heard of people doing when a dog doesn't like their food is warm the hard dog food up. This gives a stronger aroma and the food is normally more appealing to the dog.
Does the food have chicken as the main meat? I tried feeding my St. Bernard and Yellow Lab Eukanuba, and they would not eat it. My vet told me later that chicken is not appealing to a lot of dogs.
Good luck, and I don't know what kind of dog food your dogs eat, but Wellness is a really healthy dog food, and our dogs love it. It is an all natural food, so it helps them take in the correct amount of vitamines also.

dried food may not be the answer as it sounds like his urine is too concentrated signifying that he is not getting enough water. Assuming that you leave a bowl of water down all the time for him, he may need to get liquid from tinned food. Whichever food you decide to give, give just that and stop mucking about giving this and that. Treats and bits during the day will make him less likely to eat his dinner and is a sure fire way to making him a fussy eater.........................oops, that's part of your problem isn't it? Now you know why :0)
Don't add gravy etc to his food as it contains too much salt and you don't want to add kidney damage to his problems.

I have a Jack Russell dog and mine is a fussy eater we have recently put him on dried dog food, which he will not eat. He wants bits and pieces from our plates, he will wait to see what we are leaving from our dinner plates before he will even look in his own bowl. I always thought dogs got excited about dinner time but he doesnt, all that I know he will dive on to eat is chicken or left over meat and gravy, we have tried everything to make him eat. But I have started to alternate dried food and dog food, he will eat it if he his hungry. He is the correct weight so I do not worry about him too much, but he is a much loved dog.

Don't just feed him dry food - an all dry food diet can cause problems with his kidneys.
Dogs should be given at least one meat meal a day. We feed ours a dog mince called Prize Choice, which most garden and pet centres will sell. They have a complete dried food down all day to supplement their diet. they eat it if they are hungry.

He needs two types of dog food to keep him healthy - dry and wet.
Dry food and table scraps is not a nourishing diet for him. You may have a bit of difficulty making him eat his wet dog food now.
Try mixing bits and pieces of human food with his new, wet food. If he eats this, gradually lessen his intake of human food with his wet dog food.

You will need to introduce it to his diet gradually ie first meal would be mainly dry food and a little ordinary dog food, then increase the ordinary whilst decreasing the dried until you're there et voila

Once you feed a dog things he likes, and you want get him back to the previous stuff, you have to wean him off of the undesirable stuff slowly, or he just may quit earting for a few days in rebellion.

Mix his dry food with wet/canned food, about 50/50.
As time goes on, decrease the wet food until he is totally on dry again.
Good Luck.
