If kept frozen safety is not the issue. I try to use meats within 6 months just because the taste will suffer if kept too long! :-)=

I usually use it in 3-4 months....They say up to 6 but I never wait that long.

Because grinding exposes so much more surface to bacteria, I would use it in four months. Steaks and roasts could go a year.
