Why do adults become addicted, or girls? Similar questions I would have thought. I guess it happens because substances are available and they have the urge to experiment with them.

yet, i would like to answer in as general way as possible.
Most of the boys become addict and habitual(of whatever you may mean) due to HERD effect. That is, their activities are decided by the group behaviour. This is the nutshell. You can elaborate this group behaviour analysis into to thousand pages. But group behavious is actually, responsible for so many habits both good and bad.

actually they dont have that knowladge.. they dont know whats right and whats wrong..The other thing is whenever they see someone doing drugs and smoking and drinking they copy them and do the same stuff thinking that they look more cool by doing that stuff....And the main factor why boys become addicted and habitual in collage is frustration,depression,anxiety these type of kids have these problems and to overcome this problem they go the wrong way which is drugs and alcohol..

Peer pressure is sometimes strong. Boys should be with good company.

because of friends they are having,if the friends around him are good, he is going to be as a good person or if the friends with him are smokers and drinkers obviously he is going to be same, so that depends upon their friends circle
