As an individual who has lived one, studied the other and become apostate to both, I can tell you that there is nothing Islam can do to replace a broken faith in Christianity and vice versa.

I suppose the underlying question is "what are you losing faith in?" If it is the way of life, then you will only find more of the same. If it is the hope for the future, you will only find more of the same. If it is the underlying theology, you will probably find more of the same, with possibly a very minor tweak related to the passage of history. If it is the mythology, then changing organisation will not help you. If it is the validity of the church, then you will find the same in the Mosques.

The only difference you may find is in the style of execution, and if that is all that matters to you then I suggest you take a deep, long look at exactly why you believe what you do and consider whether or not it is really worth going to such bother only to step through the motions every week.

In choosing a new religion you can set these guidelines for yourself. Religion has to be the cause of love and unity towards all mankind. If not it is better not to have any religion. A 2000 year old religion or a 1500 year old religion has already lost it's power to transform people. This is a natural process and not a criticism of either one of these religions. A medicine with an expired date on its label does very little or no good. It may even poison or kill. This does not mean that it was not effective at a time. Also the Creator of the universe would never leave it's creation without constant guiding knowing full well it can self destroy at any moment. Good luck in your search. Look into www.bahai.com too.

If you have studied Islam thoroughly and find that it is the religion for you, nobody can stop you :) Islam is about being sincere with God, if you sincerely want to convert I can assure you the Muslims will accept you and teach you all you need to know to be a good Muslim.

Find out where the local mosque is at your area, approach someone there and ask questions about Islam. Interacting with a practicing Muslim will help you realize whether Islam is for you or not.

Muslims are very accomodating to converts (or reverts as some may say). They have the utmost respect for them and take extra special care of them :)

Loosing faith is a hard thing. I feel for you.

You have to ask yourself what you really believe. Look deep down. Is God there for you? If he is I'm happy for you. If you feel that another way lies open for you then maybe you should follow that because if there is a power that exists then maybe it is calling you.

Or maybe there is nothing. And then you have to set up your own code of ethics, choose what you will do or not do with a realisation that there is no powerful figure guiding you except yourself. But that you are yourself a very powerful figure and the choices you make are important.

What ever happens to you I wish you well. Good luck.

PS. I am an atheist. But that doesn't mean God doesn't exist, it just means I don't believe he does. If he does for you, good. :)

David the real question is will Allah accept you.Faith is a realization of the truth you should follow your heart. If you feel convinced of Islam as the true religion of Allah then go ahead and dont worry about acceptance or rejection from people.Know that the acceptance of Allah alone is sufficient for you.Its for Him that you believe. In Islam there is no compulsion it is a matter of your own choice and success.Study well and pray well seek His guidance and then decide when you are sure of what you are doing.Islam is a religion of love, peace and acceptance, study it well.A good site is www.harunyahya.com.Best wishes.

of direction you may convert, human beings do unlike that its a complicated faith to transform to. Very long, slow technique, and that's respectable, because of the fact the belief is that basically the truthful will bypass by using all that to grow to be a Jew. i replaced into Christian, researched Judaism alongside with different faiths, yet ultimately customary Islam. Islam and Christianity are possibly the least confusing 2 to transform to. the two basically require an common announcement of religion. For Islam, this is : I submit to witness that there is not any god yet Allah, and that i submit to witness that Muhammad is his slave and messenger. additionally say it in Arabic: Ashadu anla illaha illAllah, wa ashadu anna Muhammadan abdur wa rasuul lullah.

I have chosen to walk with GOD as a christian. I am not totally familiar with Islam, but from what I know, I will stick with Christianity. Why are you losing faith ? I could advise you if I knew, but since I don't, I can only state this. When I pray, I ask that his will be done, not mine. I am not wise enough to know. It was never said that life as a christian would be perfect and without trials and tribulations. It said that Jesus was preparing a room for us in his house. I will give a statement from the Bible that explains it better. '' Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD, and his righteousness, and all of these things shall be added unto you.'' If you put GOD first, if you walk with him and talk with him and listen. If you continue to pray and seek a path. I think that your way will be revealed.

Your fooling yourself.

You obviously a looking for answers to your problems in religion and maybe you should get out altogether without hoping that jumping from one to another will solve them.

Muslims all over the world are trying to convert, your just giving in to what could be the worst move of your life.

I would slow down if I were you. You probably aren't losing your faith in Christianity, just other Christians. Something all of us do from time to time. Try reading the Bible and studying on your own. NEVER simply rely on what others have taught you without reading it for yourself. If you still are not satisfied, start doing research into other religions. DO NOT convert to ANY religion without fully understanding their doctrine, inside and out.

Blessed Be

Seems to me that you're actually losing your faith in organised reigion because you don't really believe in it. Any other religion will linevitably let you down in time if you're in this frame of mind so.... Why don't you give religion up and have faith in your own feelings, set of values, etc. It'd be the adventure of a lifetime! and god knows what you may discover about yourself?
