It is a type of fish it comes in many variety, but it can be salt/sweet water, farm raised or wild.

Salt water and cold water are as a rule also called wild Salmon if caught in a river or on high seas. Some time they are called Ocean Salmon.

They have white or pink meat. People, fry them, bake them, boil them and grill them.

They make Salmon Jerky, and you can buy dry salmon also.

There are fish spelled nearly that way but with the e gone off the end. Salmon is an ocean fish that spawns in fresh water.
