she sees nothing odd or unusual about this idea - i really am at wits end here. i'm afraid to even ask her anything else. what if she's kissing girls already??

I know how you must feel but she is your daughter and you should love her no matter what. If you try to make her feel different about it or push her the wrong way then things could get worse. Maybe she is just at that age were things are changing. I dont know. Not really sure what to say. Just stand by her and maybe her mind will change. I wish you the best. Good luck

Let her be who she's meant to be and if it means a lesbian then so be it... It wont help you any to try and change her mind or demand that she not be into girls, and I know this because I went through it with my mother when I was about 15... I felt very un loved and not understood because of the way she acted and no child deserves this... Be proud of who she is and not focus the attention to who she chooses to love... I'm telling you this- Instead of wasting your time on going crazy in your head about what the p.t.a. and everyone else will think and how bad of a mother you think you are, give your daughter your love... Her feelings most likely wont change, so just except it and get over it, at least she's not pregnant or using drugs... It's not your life- it's hers, you just have to get over that and leave her to make her own decisions on that and know that it's not about you- it's about what she wants...

I don't understand what the problem is. She's still your daughter. Be supportive. If you aren't and in the end she turns out to be a lesbian, she'll resent you for it. It also can be just a phase. I'm married to a wonderful man but I had female lovers in high school and college. I still find women attractive, I'm just committed to my husband.

yup I agree. I loved even as she regarded typical, and lovable. Now she sounds like a skeleton. Its so unhappy the pressure that hollywood places on youthful girls. Lindsay Lohan besides. They go from being typical little women to anorexic searching, and it says to youthful girls is that it really is what you're meant to appear like

One of two things will happen:
She will grow out of it and find that she is actually attracted to men
or
She will become more enamored of her own gender and will come out as a gay woman.
I'm afraid all you can do is wait it out and see how she turns out. In the meanwhile, show her the love and support she needs from important family members such as yourself.

If she is she is. Nobody would choose to be gay it is too hard to find a place in society. Just love her for who she is.
