ive had larygitis for a few days now and ive been resting but i really need to exercsize. can i lift weights or something without hurting my vocal cords?

as long as you try not to talk or strain your vocal chords by using/abusing them it should be fine... drink plenty of fluids and take your vitamins!

I wouldn't be so concerned with your vocal cords as I would your brain and vascular system

Exercise normally increases body temperature, and whilst you have a fever this will further increase your core temp, technically frying some of your bodies metabolic enzymes and prevent normally body function. The increase above 37C may also injure your brain as some areas cannot handle a surge of temperature

Also, the energy you burn whilst exercising is needed to fight the infection. No energy = longer time to endure the infection = more time off exercising = unhappy you!!!!

Its best to give your body a chance to recover before your start pumping iron! If you dont you will prolong the illness.
