HI Michella !
Heaps of Kids really like sultanas (loads of fiber) but if that's no good I also know you can buy 'high fiber' white bread. Apple juice is great but the fiber content of 'store brands' is usually really low. If you buy a juicer and make your own apple juice it will retain heaps of fiber !!. Lastly (if you get desperate) you could try camouflaging cilium husk powder in her baby foods and breakfast cereal. Best of Luck :-)

OK Mom - hear goes! being a grandmother and, a retired Paramedic, it seems she REALLY likes "apple juice", so I think she will like this - in the morning when she is eating her cereal, make a "little warm" applesauce! put a little "brown sugar" in it and "stir it up" - and see if your wee one will eat that. Warm applesauce, softens the stool, and promotes a "bowel movement" - stop the "Sunshine Bananas" - bananas and rice are VERY BINDING.. these foods are used to restart the bowel, especially after having the flu, loose stool, etc. Please remember that. Another binding food is Hard Boiled Eggs" - I have one more suggestion - have your doctor order a "culture & sensitivity" on your wee ones' stool. Lets make sure she doesn't have a bowel obstruction, infection,or parasite. Don't argue with the family doctor is he boohoo's this - DO IT! If you don't have medical coverage where you live - I am quite sure there is a Free Clinic somewhere in your neighbouroughhood... if your little girl is the correct weight for her age, has no other symptons - then the "hard, large" stools she has difficulty passing, could be (believe me) Genetic! - Get the Test - find out for sure. Give your sweet one a kiss for me - there is nothing in this World, like it! Let us know how she is doing in the future.

Just changing her diet to real unprocessed food should help. Try cranberry juice, raisins and other dried fruits. Get her on cereal with sugars in it, it will help soften her stool. That and she will love it rather than the bottled crap you have been feeding her. My kids were eating what the family was by two years old. You have got to get her off the processed food and on a regular diet. Cherios, mac and cheese, peanut butter sandwiches, hamburgur helper, kids meals at McD's and other places, etc. Wonderbread makes a whole wheat white bread and it even tastes good. Change the variety of juice and she should be good to poo once again!

My two year old loves strawberries and they are high in fiber! Maybe your child will eat them too.
Can you try whole wheat bread instead of white? If your child only drinks apple juice, can you dilute it with water, because more water would be good too for a constipated baby. A two year old should be eating more table foods, not baby foods. Here is some info from askdrsears.com. There is lots of good feeding info on his website...good luck!
"18 to 24 months Eats toddler portions of sandwiches, stews, nutritious puddings, sauces, smoothies, shakes, pate, dips, toppings, spreads, soups
Toddler food "language:" avocado boats, cooked carrot wheels, cheese blocks, broccoli trees, o-shaped cereal, toast sticks, cookie-cutter cheese melts, sailboat salads, peanut butter Grazes – deserves title "picky eater"
Nibble tray
Weans from bottle
Uses spoon and fork Molars appear – begins rotary chewing
Spoon-feeds self without spilling much
Learns food talk, signals for "more," "all done"
Wants to eat on the run—needs creative feeding to hold attention at table
Has erratic feeding habits"

You are asking for trouble. If you do not break your baby of only eating certain foods now, she and you will have problems all of her life. (1) give her water instead of apple juice (apple juice has calories in it and makes her feel full) when you sit down for a meal, fix her a plate, if she does not eat it, put it in the refrigator, when she lets you know she is hungry, get the plate out, warm it up and give it to her again. DO NOT MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT HER FOOD IT CAN END UP A BATTLE ROYAL. She will fuss for a few days, but it is better to do this now than later. (If she eats the foods on her plate and is still hungry, it is OK to give her a snack.) l. To take care of her poop problem, see if you can get her on a schedule of when to go to the bathroom.

You can try adding some prune juice to her apple juice, if you start out with just a little and gradually build up she may not even notice. It really doesn't take much.

Maybe try making her fruit smoothies..with bananas and other fruits. You could also make her oatmeal muffins and maybe let her put some fruit spread jam on them. Also if she is on a multivitamin, some of them have extra iron which can be constipating..maybe try a vitamin with a low dose of iron.

white bread is not a good fiber source. You need to add whole grains.
