Anytime you ban anything, it goes underground and creates more problems. Did you miss the section in your social studies books in school on Prohibition?
Alot of religions don't allow any alcohol consumption. That's personal preference but it should not be done across the board. Why should one group's beliefs dictate someone else's? They shouldn't. But that is what people are trying to do nonetheless, day in and day out.
Doctors have researched that wine is actually beneficial to your health.
Alcohol also causes violence in other people who have no control over themselves (read: alcoholics or domestic violence abusers) while under the influence. That could be considered evil as well. It causes stupid people to drive wrecklessly and kill others. So in that case, should vehicles be banned as well since they were also tools of evil?
Fornication is only a sin to those who believe in sin. Most people don't. Also, define fornication. Do you translate it to mean sex for recreation within your own relationship (which alot of religions forbid as well) or is it simply casual sex with anyone which is just stupid?
Your argument is pointless.

Islam forbids alcohol BUT, having lived amongst muslims in the Gulf, it is surprising how many of them pay no attention to that ruling. A drive out into the desert will reveal just how many discarded whisky bottles there are after a group of muslims have been having seceret night-time drinking binges.
By the way, what do you mean 'WE'. Who is 'WE'?
I drink alcohol in a sensible fashion, being an adult, and I had one beer today with my lunch. Guess what ... I didn't feel an irresistible urge to fornicate.
What DOES cause people to 'fornicate', if that is a sin in your eyes, is a natural bodily function which all life-forms on the planet are driven by. Given to us by nature and not by an imaginary entity who you might assume issues talents and skills and deliverance. Thus, it is totally natural in the mammalian world from which we evolved. Watch a tribe of chimpanzees when it's time for procreation. Fornication??? Absolutely. We are programmed to do the self-same thing. It is the individual's own moral code that control actions and OVER-indulgence in alcohol, will lower inhibitions. To solve your problems, just keep irresponsible teenagers away from booze and drugs. They just can't handle it. I can. Can you?
ADDITIONAL: Regardless of what most people say, there is moral conflict in everthing that we do, every day of our lives. Thise with high moral standards, however, do not need a 'nanny-state' to control what they can or cannot do, as we of a civilised nature naturally live lives that are socially-acceptable to our fellow men and women. Having religion is not a pre-requisite, in fact, believing that by becoming a suicide-bomber and killing innocent fellow-humans in the name of a religion and being rewarded by immediate transition into a non-exixtent paradise seems to be sufficient for some to act as if they have no normal moral codes whatsoever. Muslims - stand up and be counted.

A ban on something seems to make it even more attractive to some people...as it did when we tried to ban alcohol years ago...
People have to make inward choices out of their own convictions...and sometimes it takes a bumpy ride through life before people are willing to seek spiritual answers to life to develop those convictions.
It is not the opportunity for evil...it is the choices we make to open the door to it that can cause our downfall. Alcohol only hurts me if I drink it to excess. Anything I do to excess will probably hurt me in some way.

First of all we tried that and it led to rampant crime, secondly, it is the people themselves committing the act not the alcohol. That would be like banning eggs because they have cholesterol. Nobody forces you to eat the egg or drink the alcohol. People need to take responsibility for their own actions not look for something to blame.

Hello seven.. :)
We did is was called prohibition..but the government could not stop the making of illegal alcohol..so they finally gave up..
Alcohol does not cause people to fornicate..Alcohol itself is not evil..the person who consumes it to get drunk, is the blame..by itself it does no harm does it..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

They tried that once...see American history...it was totally unsuccessful and gave birth to the black market and the Mob.....
Actually the alcohol doesn't make you do anything...it lowers your inhibitions...but your actions are still your own responsibility.
