hi I'm a med student i got one more year before graduation so I'm almost there :)
I'm sure you know about the long hours the endless books and the long long nights of studying these are the main obstacles for any med student everywhere but don't put that on mind do what you can do it may never seem to be enough i always have this feeling before tests that i will defiantly fail this time there are still so much more to read! but i pass every time with good grades the main point is that you can't cover everything no matter how you try in the start but year after year you will find that the same information is being told in different situation and it will somehow be there in your mind and you will find yourself with time developing a clinical sense for me i think that's the most important thing to learn information is everywhere if you didn't learn it in med school you will learn it in residency .
what motivate me everyday is the patients after all im doing all of this from the start because i wanted to help people and ease their pain i know i still have a long way to go and allot of things to learn but that's a life long process and i hope im ready for that!
so do carry on med school is very rewarding in the end

First of all,I'd like to advice is try to be a doctor ,if you are really interested in the career. It's not an easy job.And there's many risks too, especially in the develpoing countries.
And I think it has the longest hour of duty time amongest all professions!
But if you are really interested, try to find our what are the world's largest medical problems and where they are and think what do u want to do about it (even though you may still not know the treatments of diseases).
I found it's a very motivating thing.

don't over load yourself with classes-- if a class description seems easy, it never is. if you feel like you are doing too much, dont be afraid to take it slower. ITS NOT A RACE TO FINISH!!!!

i'm not a doctor or med student, but i've been through school--- I think the advice i gave you really goes for any student...

good luck.. maybe you'll cut me open one day.

Are you located in the US? If you are, then this book is quite interesting reading. It's primarily about choices after med school.
