It sounds like you are eating something that you are allergic to. My mum suffered with the same symptoms untill she visited a dietitian and had to cut ceryain things out of her diet.
I'm not sure what purlieus is?? But Pleurisy is inflammation of the membranes of the lungs, and this can make you quite ill and throw up. I would visit your GP.

If it's only been a few days then you probably ate something a bit off or have a bug.
If it's long-term it could be the sign of something more serious. Does it happen after eating certain foods? You may be intolerant to gluten, lactose or some other foods. It could be the makings of an ulcer. Talk to your doctor.

Are you sure you're not just hungry? Sounds to me like you're starting to digest yourself, so eat something. If not, then see your doctor.

sounds to me like you have a wheat or gluten allergy, don't eat anything with wheat or gluten for a few days, if symptoms go away there is your answer, I had exactly the same thing, or should I say still have, once you get it you are stuck with it, good luck
