I think it started a very long time ago when the pastor used to live in a parsonage on the land of the church, just a small modest dwelling, and the church was active in actually helping people financially in the community. Now of course it's totally ridiculous with most pastors living far better than most of the people in their church and driving huge cars and all. It should be stopped. why should a pastor not have to pay taxes on his huge income and dwelling , but the people he serves all have to.

Because the early founders of our cities, states, counties were christians and decided not to have to pay taxes on their own personla properties as wells as the church they attended on sunday. That would be double taxation. The laws were made and never have been changed. Unfortunately, many people who really don't have a religion, start one to get a tax advantage.

because if they did then this would not work with the made up notion of seperation of church and state, which is but a manulation of wording by the nazi's in this united states to keep prayer ,the bible, and god out of schools. other wise they would compete with the (theroy) of eveloution , yes i said theroy. also your tax dollars would fund something that you might not agree with, like god, bible, prayer, and jesus.
