My 3 year-old Bichon has started yelping when I pick her up. It happens when I put my hand under her rump to support her. I noticed tonight her left leg has a better reflex then the right leg when I press on her paw. The right leg has little or no reflex. Her eyes seem to show pain. I wish she could talk. Anyone with the same experience?

Thanks everyone for your good advice. I took my dog to the Vet and found out she may have a knee cap slipping in and out when I pick her up.

Hi you should really consult a vet if you feel your dog is in any pain...don't wait for msgs on a board to show up & feel it is going to answer your questions totally & take the pain away from your dog...think of the dogs welfare firstly when it comes to health issues with aniamals in pain & talk to a professional vet...Regards Jake

Hi there...there's a good chance she could've injured herself with a sprain if she's still able to walk. A sprain would cause the leg to stiffen up due to the swelling and be very tender.

Would you please consider ringing your vet first thing to discuss this and see if a visit is required to evaluate your dog's condition. Although anyones intentions here on Yahoo Answers is well meaning we are not licenced medical professionals therefore we should not dispense any medical advice as this could cause your dog undue harm.

This is a question best answered by your vet. She could have sprained the leg somehow, but it is best not to guess if she is in pain.
