Hi Icy_L, Well, that depends on what type of "Seafood" your cooking/serving? In my opinion...your basic "cocktail" sauce (ketchup&horseradish) goes well with: Prawns, Shrimp, Crab, Oysters and Clams (deep-fryed). On the other hand, your basic "tarter" sauce (mayonnaise, onions&sweet relish/pickles) goes well with: "Fryed/Grilled fish IE; Fish-n-Chips, Sole, Swordfish, Trout, Tuna and Salmon. Bon Appetite' XOXO Moonpie P.S. There is one "creature from the sea" that tastes good with both kinds [of the above] mentioned sauces..."Calamari"!

i like an alfredo with certain fish, especially salmon, but newburg is great with fish also like shrimp. A very light cream sauce is usually good with any seafood. Oh..... I love linguine with clamsauce. It's basically clams pasta, and a light sauce made out of a white wine. Sometimes marinara could be good with calamari or fried seafood mostly.

There are different kinds of sauces for seafood in different cuisines, I like Chinese garlic & chicken stock sauce for lobsters.
Then I also like Italian balsamic vinegar sauce for scallops.
Japanese wasabi soy sauce for sashimi is excellent too!
Tartar sauce is so good for deep fried seafood.
..... drooling now when thinking of all sort of seafood and sauces.

What kind of seafood? How is it prepared?
boiled crustaceans: horseradish cocktail sauce or clarified butter with lemon
Grilled fish: beurre blanc or a nice fresh salsa
Fried fish: can't beat good old malt vinegar

basically, the fattier the dish the more you need acid based sauces to cut the heaviness. Lighter dishes have more freedom.
But please stay away from that nasty pink sauce mentioned. :P
