Repair Your Hair with Olive Oil - How To More Natural Therapies Solutions
Adapted from The Herbal Home Spa by Greta Breedlove (Storey Books, 1998).
After a long winter's exposure to dry indoor heat, our hair needs some nourishing relief! Here's the simple solution. This easy hair treatment will result in healthier, more manageable hair and a really clean, invigorated scalp. Olive oil nourishes, conditions, and improves the strength and elasticity of your hair, while the couldn't-be-easier process is both stress-reducing and health-promoting.

Here's how.

Simple Solution:

INGREDIENTS (enough for 1 or 2 treatments, depending on the length and thickness of your hair)
½ cup olive oil
5 drops frankincense essential oil (others may be substituted, if you wish)
1 plastic bag that can fit over your hair.

1. Pour olive oil into a jar with a lid, then add essential oil. Put lid on jar and shake well to disperse the essential oil. Let sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place. Shake again before use.

2. Rinse hair with warm water. Warm 1 tablespoon of oil treatment in the palms of your hands. Using your fingertips (not nails), gently massage the oil into the scalp in a circular motion. Repeat until the entire scalp has been massaged. Rub the ends of your hair with the remaining oil.

3. Place a plastic bag over your hair, secure by tying or with a hair clip or clothespin, and allow the oil to remain for at least ½ hour.

4. Rinse well, then shampoo as usual.

I have used Olive Manon Virgin Oil since young and it is indeed very effective for promoting hair growth and moisturing skin. I was introduced to it by my mum who's also an avid user. Never really had hair and skin quite dry when I was young, and I do see the difference now after years of using it. The method I was introduced to is called an Oil Pack. You'll have to massage the oil onto the hair (not scalp. cos its natually oily) and then keep it under wraps with a hot towel for about half an hour before showering. After shower and before sleep, apply gently on the affected area.

Olive oil is a well known fact that sebum is required for proper moisturization of beautiful and healthy hair. Hair that has a good moisture basis tends to be more resistant to daily damage, tangles, dryness and split ends.
Olive oil is the oil of choice for many people suffering from a variety of hair woes. This is a excellent oil for adding moisture to the hair.
Extremely damaged hair or hair that tends to break, split or tangle will often respond very well to olive oil. Olive oil is a very healing and moisturizing oil for the hair. I have found over the years that olive oil will work for just about all types of hair.

It tends to leave your hair too greasy and make your hair limp. Try using Olive Oil Cream. Mane 'N Tail has a great product, and that's what I use. Just messgae it intoyour scalp with the balls of your fingers, this will help the blood circulate which cause to stimulate your hair follicles which increases hair growth. Also this will give your hair moisture so it wont become dry, brittle.

Olive oil is good for your hair but coconut oil is even better. Rub coconut oil on your hair and wait a few hours or even overnight before you wash it out. Your hair will be shiny and silky smooth. Good luck!
