Nobody! That's why there are a million and one versions to it. You can chuck out what you don't like and throw in what you do. It is one of the most unauthentic books around!!

Some houses do charge but usually Bibles can be found for free if you know where to look.
Some families purchase family bibles and hand them down, I have an 18th century bible that has been in my family since 1799.
Many bibles are given away free to overseas countries and within parishes.
I expect publishing houses try to cover costs but I doubt any could fund a retirement program on the proceeds.

everyone can submit the KJV, it really is contained in the traditional public area. those who promote the books they produce will income from it. The copyrights from the different version belongs to the human beings who rewrote it and tweaked it to their liking, yet nonetheless copyrights in basic terms very last for thus long after an author's lack of existence. If an organization bought the right, or commissioned the translation, that is going to belong to them searching on all kinds of criminal mumbo jumbo.

The copyrights have expired, however in each different version, there is a limited copyright period, where no one can copy the new ideas or design without getting permission. I think the copyright laws on the bible ran out several thousand years ago, on the original version. The original writers are not around to collect their fees.

The original author, Jehovah, wants everyone to get access to his word, to see what he wants us to do. However that is achieved, it doesn't matter too much. commercial publishers are no doubt making a profit from it, but the Bible is the most widely distributed book in history, and many people are learning what God requires. Consider 2 Timothy 3 v16 and Psalm 83 v18 in older Bibles.

I believe that God holds the Copyright as it is his work..
Publishing houses have a licence to print this work.
We all have the right to print the bible but only God truly owns it.

Ofcourse the bible has a copyright.
The copyright belongs to God. As the words were His.
But people have downtrodden it long ago. which is why God sent another book ^^
