When I started a job, I complained about all of the religious decorations on the walls in our locker and break rooms. I complained to management that the workplace is no place for religious expressions. They agreed and had the decorations taken down.

After that, no one would talk to me. They all pretended that I wasn't there and would go silent if I entered the room. I started to get harassing letters stuffed into my locker about how I was going to Hell, and how I was an emissary of the devil. I turned them into management who compared the handwriting on several hand written reports to identify and remove the person.

Gradually the people who came in were much more secular minded, and things eased into a more comfortable work environment as the old crew was rotated out.

Well the fact that people are mean bothers you doesn't it. You should really open that up to be like "people have you ever suffered discrimination or prejudice as a result of what you believe...?"

I mean everyone has been picked on for a belief don't think it makes you special because your belief is disbelief.

I got a little thumbs down thingy I made someone mad.... I am a martyr now.Yea. Okay maybe not...

I have recieved more disparaging remarks and acts of discrimination because I obeyed my Governments order to report for military duty in 1966 than any religous disbelief. As if breaking the law and getting a guaranteed felony record was a better option.

Yes, I lost a job over it once, because I did not go to any church, they would have been OK if I had of attended even at a Church they hated, but they could not deal with a non believer. They were the same sorts as you get on here whining about how they, as Xtians, are victims of persecution.

I'm not necessarily an atheist, more or less a "provisional" Christian. And I can't stand being around bible thumpers, so I make an effort to surround (or isolate) myself with positive influences.

I actually does no longer decide to alienate somebody for being atheist. optimistically they could see previous my being a christian and we could get alongside. i might attempt to no longer offend that individual if in any respect feasible. yet i might wish he ought to inquire from me questions approximately it and not make me experience like he's putting me instantaneous

But why are you so disturbed if you think that those who believe in God are wrong. This means you are not well established in your atheism. It is a shaky position, indeed. I don't know how it will help you at the time of your death. What you will resort to then - your logic, your grammatical skills, your relatives, your dog, your atheistic views, etc. ?
Please consider this with intelligence
