My Mom's not well.
She has crippling arthritis. She has had it since I can remember. (I'm 19) However she also has a very very bad back. She has had several operations in the past 15 or so years, including a Spinal Fusion. However, lately due to the arthritis she has grown increasingly worse. It takes her 3 minutes to get out of the car.
She has been told that she now has 3 options.

- Continue getting injections into her spine. (These only give about 2 weeks of relief)
- Epidural (these are very painful and last just 3 weeks) or
- Surgery on the plates which are trapping the nerves in her back (This is very serious surgey which could lead to paralysis)

I try to be supportive. My father is doing his best too, however I also have medical problems which I am finding difficult to come to terms with.
I am really worried about everything.
I don't want to talk to anyone as I am the type of person who bottles everything up and deals with one thing at a time, but this is really....

getting to me. I nearly broke down on the bus on the way to college.
How do you decide between painful injections which last a week or so and serious surgery which could lead to paralysis. ??

I understand your dilemma, you poor thing! I would opt for the surgery if it gives your mom long tern relief. I know you said the surgery could be dangerous but surgeons today are very highly skilled and they would operate with a camera that can place objects within thousandths of an inch from sensitive nerve endings! believe me your mom will come out o.k. And she'll need you and your pa to support her, when she goes in for the opp. Don't you worry she'll be alright! You have a good day!

It's not really your decision, but I can understand your concern as your mom probably needs some support in making the decision. I've had epidurals for both child birth and an abdominal operation. Both were not painful, just invasive I guess. There is risk with them though. Make sure you get various medical opinions, and weigh up the options so you can talk to your mom about them and be well informed. Best wishes.

I want there was once some thing I might do or say to aid you now not think so badly. I particularly do. I recognize this hurts such a lot correct now to have a majority of these conflicting feelings. I do not feel you're being self-damaging to wish that they get a divorce. I simply desired to mention some thing established on what I've discovered of you in this astrology segment. I have an overly powerful feeling that there's a few lovely and vibrant younger guy who's definitely loopy approximately you, and you have not obvious him but on the grounds that your brain has been in this.

This is very, very difficult. It sounds like your mom has suffered with a lot of physical problems.

Your parents have a difficult decision to make. I would encourage them to get a second, even third opinion. It is important to be thoroughly informed before taking any action. You might be surprised that another doctor would have an alternate medical suggestion.

Last, but not least, pray for God to help you. Ask Him to help your parents make the right decision. Ask Him to touch your Mom. I have seen amazing answers to very small prayers. I will pray for you.

You don't have to decide, she has to.

My mum is in the same situation only they have put her on morphine 5 times a day. It's a tough decision and she needs to decide what she feels will work best for her particular medical position.

Be strong and try to find someone to talk to, even if it is only online. Bottling up your emotions will only cause you harm.
