................well this highly complex designer is far to complex and perfect to just exist and must have been designed himself (according to intelligent design logic )

So who designed the designer.

to say "he always existed" goes against the theory of intelligent design itself.

"Intelligent Design" is simply a propaganda piece used to promote religion. As an explanation for anything, it's a complete nonstarter for the reason you suggest. It'd be like saying "here's how to become rich: first, get a million dollars. Then...".

In fact there is no evidence that a process of intelligent design can produce anything nearly as complex as life. The intelligent design advocates have never managed to produce even a tiny piece of something like a cell, let alone a full cell, an organ, an organism, or an ecosystem. It's utterly ridiculous to believe that they could, and they know it: as far as I know, none of them are even trying.

Why is that the case? If they're so sure that intelligent design can be the source of life, where are the labs in which they're trying to produce evidence for that belief? Where are the intelligent design scientists figuring out how the design process could work? In fact, there aren't any, are there?

Intelligent design isn't just full of holes - it's nothing but a hole.

You are most likely correct. However, the real issue is
why would you care one teeny little bit? What good
does it do to ask other people who haven't a clue either?
Do you suppose that they could furnish you directions
to his home? Well, maybe they can tell you what size shoes he / she wears? Or, possibly they can tell you
(assuming he/she does have hair) if he is a Blonde,
Brunette, or Redhead?

Now get serious...Since the creator of all this (must have been someone - right?) is not here now, is he/she dead?
You know, did they die a long time ago maybe in the Ice Age or when some asteroid hit the Earth? Who would know for certain? Certain teachings tell us that the Creator lives up, somewhere in the sky, way above us.
Hmm-m, if that was said in the middle east, that would
actually be below us if you live in the USA, right? And,
since this creator individual does not live on the Earth,
we call all living things foreign to the Earth = Aliens.
You know like "Men from Mars" and all that. So, do you
want to suggest that we look for aliens to find out about
creation? Lots of people are looking for Aliens. Why not
join up with them to find your answers if you can?

What indications do you have that you will find some kind of rock solid, genuine answers? My guess is that you are just asking and asking and asking with no real plan in mind of how to go about a real search for the truth. Oh, a lot of people have already been this route, traveled this road, been there done that...so it is going to be really hard to come up with something "NEW."

While we are talking about this, I am really curious as to
what exactly you are seeking besides asking this question over and over. I mean, are you looking for a set of design plans for "Life" that someone left behind years and years ago? I would give this question a lot of serious thought. It would be pure heck to wonder about this all your life and miss it when you finally spotted it, because you didn't know what you were really looking for.

Good Luck,
Zah

I'm not a proponent of I.D., but if this premise is taken objectively, and the logical pattern is extended hypothetically as you have suggested, then one highly probable explanation may be that the Designer designed Himself, rather than by an even Higher Designer. It may very well have been achieved via an "autocatalytic design process" on the hyper-macrocosmic level extremely similar to what is witnessed on the hypo-microcosmic level with nanotechnology where autocatalytic inception and replication occurs, but just at the antipodal end of the spectrum. If this is the case, then the state of a preexistent God (Divine Designer), before the inception of the Creation outside of the Creator, still stands true, and still satisfies statements of His preexistence.

Just how does everything show this evidence of design. It is more likely to show no design at all. Just practical adaptions.
How intelligent is a designer that makes so many flawed works that they are constantly going extinct.

what if he is the last remaining human on the planet earth some 16 billion years from now, the only human strong enough to pull through whatever the true apocalypse will be, and then winds up becoming the being who starts creation in the first place through some kind of time loop?--I just made that up off the top of my head--but wouldn't it be cool?

Dear Carpe Diem,

i think one thing that you have to accept about God is that the laws that apply to us do not apply to Him.

We know as much about God as He chooses to reveal, and so we also have to accept that our minds may be limited. Meaning that there are things about God and about this world for that matter that we can't understand. It doesn't make sense for us that no one designed God-- but does it have to make sense? i think sometimes our problem is we make God to small. If God wasn't that far above a human being than we should understand everything about Him- but He's created the universe (and there are still so many things about the universe that we don't understand) surely that great of a God may have things about Him that we don't understand- that's what makes Him God. As we look at how complex creation is though- the human body and mind for example- it points to an intelligent designer.

hope that helps. i think your argument is a bit circular and based on a God that you can understand- instead of the God of the Bible- who is the Almighty, Awesome Creator.

Repsectfully,

Nickster

Logically and from our experience we see that for everything there is a designer. If you trace back to the original designer that is God. He is the origin of everything, but He Himself has no origin. Therefore He is the Supreme. He is self-manifested. Everything else depends on Him, but He is perfectly independent. He is the source of everything and the cause of all causes.

You're thinking is limited to the laws of the physical realm. God is spiritual. Think of it like this. Was there ever a beginning to truth? Hasn't truth always been and always will be truth? It's the same with love. Well, God is both of those. I guess we will never be able to fully understand that as long as we are part of this world. But that's the closest I can come to understanding it here.

Can you tell where the wind comes from? Can you tell the beginning and the end of space? There are so many questions we cant answer but we believe they exist. So also the Great Designer - The Almighty God does exist...And we dont need to know how he came about we just know he does exist

Intelligent design recognizes that a design can never know and/or understand the Designer. Human intelligence and power are finite and limited ~ God is infinite and limitless. Try as we may, we will never be able to comprehend such a Being except to know He/She/It/They are the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, the All-Loving, the All-Wise, etc.

"So perfect and comprehensive is His creation that no mind nor heart, however keen or pure, can ever grasp the nature of the most insignificant of His creatures; much less fathom the mystery of Him Who is the Day Star of Truth, Who is the invisible and unknowable Essence. The conceptions of the devoutest of mystics, the attainments of the most accomplished amongst men, the highest praise which human tongue or pen can render are all the product of man's finite mind and are conditioned by its limitations. Ten thousand Prophets, each a Moses, are thunderstruck upon the Sinai of their search at His forbidding voice, 'Thou shalt never behold Me!'; whilst a myriad Messengers, each as great as Jesus, stand dismayed upon their heavenly thrones by the indiction, 'Mine Essence thou shalt never apprehend!' From time immemorial He hath been veiled in the ineffable sanctity of His exalted Self, and will everlastingly continue to be wrapt in the impenetrable mystery of His unknowable Essence. Every attempt to attain to an understanding of His inaccessible Reality hath ended in complete bewilderment, and every effort to approach His exalted Self and envisage His Essence hath resulted in hopelessness and failure." -Baha'u'llah
