in ladder circuits, it is said that we do not use floating inductor. and we more tend to use cpacitors or resistors or FDNRs instead. I just wondering what do they mean by floating inductors

I think they mean an inductor that's not tied to ground.

I believe a floating inductor is actually a simulation circuit using active components. Explained in great detail on

Capacitors, resistors, and FDNRs (frequency dependent negative resistors) are passive components.
