It is not just a dispute between Israelis and Palestinians--especially since there was never a "Palestinian" --it is an on-going attempt by the Muslim world to destroy all Jews.
The word Palestine refered to the region of the Philistines who are of Greek background and were wiped out long ago. (no connection to Arabs). Not until the fall of the Ottomon Empire (Turkey)after WW1 and the British mandate did the word come back into use by the British. In fact--Arabs of that day were insulted to be called Palestinians.
I think a perspective is in order--Arab lands are 640 times the size of Israel. Israel is one of the tiniest nations on the face of the earth... only about 8,000 sq. miles, It is only 260 miles at its longest, has a 112-mile coastline, 60 miles at its widest, and between 3 and 9 miles at its narrowest!
This is what the fight is over--this tiny piece of land but in fact it is simply the presence of Jews in the land.
Its also is important to note that prior to the British mandate--the land was a waste land consisting of small Jewish communities and Arab no-mads who got along rather well.
The Arabs that were there in 1948 were Jordanians--in fact the so called Palestinian population consisted of Jordanains,Syrians and Lebanese who were drawn to the prosperity that the Jews had created by restoring this waste land.
The war in 1948 started by surrounding Arab countries (not Palestinians) was won by Israel but it should be noted that many Jews lived through out these Arab countries and at the time these Arab leaders told the people to flee--some 720,000 Arabs fled and the Arabs kicked out 600,000 Jews who fled to Israel.
Today the so called refugees were placed into camps by their Arab "brothers" to be used as political pawns. Because of the confusion of the transfer of so many Jews and Arabs the UN could not establish who actually had lived in the land thus Arabs from all over filed claims and ended up refugees.
Doesnt anyone wonder why these huge Arabs lands allow their "brothers" to live the way they do? Why the leaders take the billions of aide money and not use it for their people?
The pre-emptive 1967 war? facts have been left out--like the fact that Eygpt expelled UN peace keepers and cut off shipping lanes to Israel all the while the Arab countrys amassed troops on Israels borders since Nasser of Eygpt had declared he was going to eliminate all Jews.
It also seems to be forgotten that many Arabs did not follow their leaders order to flee and they are now Israeli citizens enjoying the life in the only democratic country in the middle east.
A trip to Israel gives one a perspective as one travels through well off Israeli Arab villages living side by side Jewish villages.

Well, it's a good piece of land in a prime location!
But seriously now:
If you look in the history books,
every empire has tried to get
it's hands on it at some stage!!!
Unfortunately, these days,
it is impossible to even explain
the whole conflict since there are
so many different version of stories
going around, that you just have to read
about it and try make sense of it yourself.
Asking other people is not the right way
to go about it, since they will only tell
you their own view/opinion of it,
rather then the factual truth!
Bottom line is, everyone should just
LEARN TO GET ALONG
and (as my name suggets)
LOVE THEIR NEIGHBORS!!!!!

At the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a dispute over land and borders.
It started in 1948 when Israel was created,by a UN resolution,in Palestine, which at that time was under a British mandate. The Arab countries around didn't accept the decision and the next day they attacked the new created state.Israel won this war.In 1967 Israel attacked Syria,Egypt and Jordan in a pre-emptive war. They occupied and annexed to Israel Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank of the Jordan River (including East Jerusalem), and the Golan Heights.Millions of Palestinians ended up living in UN's refugees camp in Lebanon
There are 3 UN resolution that ask Israel to end the occupation on the Palestinians territories and the other territories that they occupied in 1967 ,but the Israelis refuse to do it...
Since then Palestinians are living under Israeli occupation and they are refused even the elementary rights any human should have... And there are millions of Palestinians living in UN's refugees camps...Israel refuses to let those people come back to their lands...

what Tinkerbel did NOT tell you is, that after 7 Arab countries lost in the 1948 war, all the Jews lived in the Arab countries were forced out with ONLY their pajamas on their bodies. 1/2 a million of them became refugees.
i did NOT heard Israel claiming material claims from Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Syria, labia, Tunisia, Algeria or Marco in their behalf.
Israel solved the problems of 1/2 million refugees, were by all the above mentioned Arab countries and more, did NOTHING for the Palestinians, and left them to rote for almost 60 years in refugee camps.
do you think they did right, attacking, creating a situation for their brothers and never helped to solve the mess they left behind?
most of the anger Palestinians have are against their Arab fellows, but Israel is a soft target.
let all the Young generation know the facts

nothing much....the Zionist after the holocaust were searching for a land to invade. several countries were on the list, they chose Palestine for multiple reasons:
- near the Oil
- excellent place for trading
- Urban people
- Used to be called Israel 12000BCE
So, with the support of France, UK and USA, the zionist invaded the lands either by bying it or by killing the villagers (lots of stories and facts). that was in 1948.
UN had never been objective so they splitted Palestine itno two. The palestiniens did not accept, war came between all the arab countries against the zionists. USA helped ...THe zionists invaded then ALL Palestine, part of Lebanon, Syria and Jordan (still till today).
So, the palestiniens are now refugees...or have minimal human rights in their own country. while a polish guy just because he is jew can come to "Israel" and own a land and have full rights as a citizen! (example)
One thing: Palestine had several religions: muslims, christians and jews.
The State of Israel aims to have only one religion: jewsish!!
How can a country be a religion?!??
Don't tell me that Israel has arabs (you see how un-orthodox this word is?) coz those Palestiniens refused to leave their houses and lands back in 1948

The conflict is between Jews and Arabs. It has a religous nature and involves the destruction of all Jews.
Take a look at this map and I think you will see that land is really not an issue.

all these people that tell you lies, please don't read this ****...
the conflict, like always, is about the land. it happens everywhere else in the world, but unfortunately - the Jews in Israel have to deal with terrorists trying to kill them - this is not legit cause they are not an army - just suicide bombers that kill civilians.

Not much detail. There is some land that both groups call theirs. They fight over it. Can't live together, what would happen if Jesus and Mohamad were in the same house, chaos I guess. I just think the ragheads don't like to share. If we would stop giving such nice weapons to the Israelis, they would probably be thrown out pretty dam quick.
