Well, the more hours you are awake, the more time you have to notice hunger, and the more time you have to do battle with the urge to eat something. Also, unless you are doing a lot of very physical things with that time, you are not burning calories nearly as fast as you are wearing out your mental processes.
Real dieting takes self-control: I'm sure you know that. And the more wired-but-tired you are (which is what sleeplessness is), the less you have self-control, or at the very least, it is psychically wearing in a way that multiplies, not simply adds up.
I would recommend you take a mild sedative, such as Valerian, to get some sleep earlier than 1:00 a.m. Since you need to get up by 5:00, realistically you should try to get to bed by 10 as often as possible.

I think so I know when I'm not getting enough sleep I eat less healthy. I used to have a job with those hours and had a bad habit of staying up every night til 1 or 2. I'm totally a night person. Now I have a job were I come in at 4pm and get off at midnight or 2am. It's really working well for me and I've been getting more sleep.
So maybe part of your problem is your more of a night person. Anyway back to answer your question, I believe lack of sleep can definitely affect wait gain.

well you and i have alot in common. i get 2 to 4 hours of sleep each night. i went to bed last night about 1130 pm eastern time and woke up at 115am and its now about 430.losing sleep isnt the healthiest way to lose a few pounds and its not really great for your body either.women in particular who dont sleep enough can get major acne outbreaks ecause when i was sick my wife had to wait on me hand and foot because i could not do much for myself except go to the bathroom.she developed larges pimples and rashes because of not getting enough rest.im do as well as i can but i have major back pain and it will start aching and throbbing so i get up get my pain pills and do this. answering questions to try to help others takes my mind off the pain sometimes and this morning its not doing a very good job.however i will survive as the grateful dead would sing.if you get into a routine as you have said your body adjust to less sleep but you wont lose that much weight. you will over time get sick from your body getting run down and your immune system becomes unstable causing you to catch a cold easier and even worse things.like the flu or anything that will make your body more likely to shut down.the body needs rest and time to relax and to renew cells in all parts of the body.however if you dont get back on a regular sleep cycle it will finally catch up with you and its quite possible to develop any kind of illness that will possibly cause you to have to stay in bed until you recover.your young and many say that the young can and will bounce back from sickness but i think your sleep deprivation will soon fade away. working all day and hardly any sleep can make you irritable and can cause problems where you work.i dont work but i am married and for over 29 years but if i get jumpy and cause my wife any undue aggravation its my fault so i do sleep a little during the day.maybe 2 hours between 10 and 2. i also could sleep more if there was a thunderstorm with heavy rain for it is quite calming to me.losing sleep does cause weight loss but it can cause a person to become sick.

Yes. Your body needs 3 things - food, water, sleep - to function properly. Lack of sleep can throw off your metabolic rate and cause an increase in cortisol which contributes to weight gain esp. around the belly. I worked 7p to 7a for 10 years and gained a lot of weight because of lack of quality sleep.

Absolutely! People's sleep requirements vary, but medical experts seems to agree on between 6-9 hours per night for an average healthy adult.
Adequate sleep, enough water (pop, tea, fruit juice, milk, coffee, etc are also fluids, but we need water), balanced diet and moderately active lifestyle are all contributors to weight loss.

Better do not use capsules, good in case you wish to unfastened weight then do just the identical movements as you are doing correct now workout and consuming much less energy, in a while you are going to unfastened weight, it takes time expensive... two weeks isn't sufficient
