should there be parental guidance while taking the drug?

it controls the acid in stomach,should not be taken under 12years,why need parental control? it will not kill

Yes.For stomach ulcers and hyperacidity.
It reduce the acid secretion of stomach, but not 100%.
It block the histamine receptor 2 on the acid secreting cells of the stomach.

Yes it is, it is a histamine H2 blocker. I'd be suprised if a child had stomach ulcers? But I think it is also in many over the counter medications for indigestion.

ranitidine,cemitidine are used for the control of acid production by centrally acting unlike antacids that neutralize acids in the stomach.they reduce acid production
