No minéralogique obligatoire ? Obligatory mineralogical No?
on the Paris taxi receipt. What's that for? Why they need mineralogical number for taxis?

n° is the abreviation for "numéro" (number). So the N° minéralogique is the identification number of the car. Every car has one, taxi or not. The note on the receipt just means that the number must be written on the receipt. I suppose this is to prevent from abuse (false taxi, but I don't think you find much in Paris), and also to be able to find the cab if you've got a problem or a reclamation afterwards
