There are a few ways to do this. One way is to do some triangular breathing. Breathe in for a count of 3 to 5 seconds, hold it for 3 to 5 seconds, then exhale for 3 to 5 seconds. Do this repeatedly but not so much that you pass out!
Another do-it-yourself way to lower the heart rate is to stimulate the vagus nerve, which controls heart rate and sweating (among many other functions). To do this, hold your thump in your mouth and make a seal with your lips (like you are sucking your thumb). Now try to "blow" your thumb out as hard as you can while keeping it sealed.
The elderly or people with weak hearts should be cautious with this method as it can cause a significant drop in heart rate when done too hard. This is actually the main reason why many people are found passed out or dead while using the bathroom, since "bearing down" with the body also stimulates the vagus nerve.

I dont worry about the heart when there is no pain. A few palpitations usually decline when I sit for a while. I carry aspirin at all times so if I get a heart pain I can take an aspirin. In the hospital you can wait over an hour just to get an aspirin.

It's common to get palpitations during times of stress and this is not surprising considering you're about to get married. No matter how happy you are and looking forward to your wedding, they take a lot of planning and organising, and you're bound to be a bit stressed out. I used to suffer from anxiety attacks, which included palpitations. Whenever you feel them coming on, stop and take big deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you breathe in, imagine breathing in calm and as you breathe out, imagine the stress leaving your body. Do this for a few minutes until you feel calm again. You could also buy some Bach's rescue remedy and place a few drops under your tongue whenever you feel them again. I'm sure they will be gone as soon as soon as you are married.

These palpitations are not necessarily indicative of heart disease. These incidents may be triggered by electrolyte imbalances from fluid loss, or by strenuous exercise and strong emotions.
Breathing slowly and deeply for 2-5 minutes often brings about a heartbeat that is even and quiet.
Herbs that treat the uterus treat the heart also. Plants that strengthen the heart are often green/red, e.g. hawthorn, rose, strawberry, raspberry and motherwort. These foods help reduce hypertension, tonify the heart and eliminate excess fluid.
