It makes you fat. Your body has an automatic clock that tells you when to stop eating from when you begin, usually about 15 minutes. If you eat quickly you will be able to stuff your face with more food than if you ate slowly, because you'd get full at about the same time... Which is why I eat so quickly. I'm trying to gain weight.
So THAT'S why I get heartburn!! Hmm.. Maybe I should slow down... I'll just go back to eating 5 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches before I go to bed again... If only these methods actually helped me gain weight... :'(

When you eat slowly, your stomach gets full quicker and it allows you to keep your portions low. This staves off extra weight gain and helps your body digest quicker. When you eat food very fast, you eat more than you need to and can make yourself throw up or give yourself heartburn. Eating a burrito too fast is just silly, because they're spicy and you'll make yourself puke. :P

Some religious groups have books including political and health laws which are derived from the time they were penned as well as religious reasoning. Pork can often harbour parasites such as tapeworms which is why in some faiths they are considered unclean, other reasons can be based on their temprement, their inability to look up or their habitual wallowing in filth - including their own. They can be considered both spiritually and physically unclean animals. A lot of religious scholars will happily state that there is a health aspect to plenty of laws in religious texts, but that doesn't preclude divine influence or will.

Mostly it is because your brain doesn't have time to realize that you have eaten enough to be satisfied before you have eaten too much. If you eat slower then the brain can sense this. The end result will cause you to gain too much weight which causes another set of different problems. Eating too quickly will also cause digestive problems and that can cause a lot of discomfort. My suggestion is that everyone slow down, savor their food a bit more and be healthy.

Patti's answer is right.. if u eat too fast you could choke or get fat! Eating fast to get fat is the wrong way to gain weight.. one would gain fat not muscle. When some wants to gain wait they usually want to gain muscles not fat! Only a fool would eat fast to gain wait! Also if you eat food fast you don't get the full taste of your food and your taste buds aren't satisfied so they'll signal you to eat more even if your tummy is full!

You need to chew well so that your stomach doesn't have to work so hard digesting: firstly, by chewing you break the food into smaller pieces, and secondly, while you chew you add saliva, which is one of the fluids that digests your food.

it takes a little while for your stomach to tell your brain that it's full so you have a tendency to eat too much .
