I do not believe it is possible for a cat to get bordatella (the virus that causes kennel cough) from a dog however there are many other feline viruses that cause upper respiratory problems, Calici, Rhinotracheitis, and chlamydia, also the herpes virus.

It is possible for your cat to have developed an allergy or it is possible that your cat has an upper respiratory infection that needs to be treated with an antibiotic. The best advice I can give is to take kitty in to the vet just to make sure that he/she is ok.

Not sure about cats getting kennel cough but she could be allergic, all of a sudden, to something or someone.

When my dog had kennel cough, my vet told me cats can't get it from dogs. I have no way of validating that for you, it's just what I was told.

Yes, they can transmit the virus. take the cat to the vet and get meds and get the kennel cough vaccine.
