Rub LIGHT salt on the outside of the steaks about 1/2 hour prior to cooking. Turn one side of the grill to high and the other to medium flame. Put the steaks on the high side for 3 minutes each side and then move them to the low side until they are cooked the way you want. I would say 5 minutes each side for the perfect medium rare steaks.

Drink a nice red wine with them and you have a nice package.

You should avoid seasonings as the filet's have a unique flavor all their own.

The best and easiest way is my tried and true 2, 2, 4, 4. Rub a little oil on both sides of the steak - put a saute/frying pan on high heat sear the steak on each side for 2 minutes (2,2) then lower the heat to medium and finish each side for 4 minutes (4,4). This method produces a medium steak.

you need a good, heavy frying pan. add a little oil. when water hitting (just a sprinkle) the oil/pan sizzles, put in your steak. when it is nice and brown, turn, let that side brown. then turn the heat down. test for "doneness" after about 5 min. i always pan fry steaks. most of the time i use butter and add a little garlic and sliced fresh mushrooms.

Cook em on a grill ..preferrably one with ridges...cook on a good medium heat seasoning lightly on each turn...brand square grill marks on yer steaks if you can...cut a small incision along a brand mark on the steak and look inside to achieve desired amount of cook time (i.e. rare medium or well done)....and most importantly of all...save one of those bad boys for me...good luck...
