They don't.
They may care about religions being pushed on them unfairly. They may think it's wrong to teach religion in schools since we're a country that accepts all religions and beliefs - not just one. Or maybe they find religion and the things people believe without evidence facinating.
It is pretty facinating too. I mean look at all the differing beliefs. Look at how strongly everyone feels about their beliefs. Look at how many wars have been faught and how many people have died over these beliefs. Then consider how it's all over beliefs that not one person backup with hard evidence. I don't really call myself an Atheist but I think it's all very facinating.
I didn't feel like watching the movie.

I totally understand. the americas were a place to flee from religious persecution. However, nothing is going to get resolved here. Write to your congress men. Elect an atheist. (I wonder if a wiccan would ever be elected into congress lol)
I dont think it has to do with religion, I think it has to do with the government being too involved in personal decisions. However, who really cares about not being able to buy a car, alcohol, or a stove on sundays? If thats a big issue for you, I'm truely sorry.
