As the survivor of crime, I can say the following:
YES -- we need to have the laws looked at very carefully -- these Juveniles can get away with multiple crimes (that if I, an Adult, were to commit -- I'd be in jail for several decades) -- and the RESPONSE that the Law Enforcement Agencies/Legal System provides.
The Juveniles KNOW that the Legal System, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Judges will just have a revolving justice for them -- Oh, poor Juvenile -- you committed a crime -- here is your arrest, by the way parent, you have to take them home right now, then bring them to court, where they get slap on the wrist to only beat you again, rob you again, continue to victimize the parent over and over again -- and the parent can't even protect themselves or be safe in their own homes.

I just went through some serious issues with the juvenile court regarding an after school fight. And 5 min after the fight the kids were friends again but the parents were dragged into court several times hoping DA would consider this to small to pursue. I can't even imagine the administration costs that was charged for this all at the expense of taxpayers. Because DA wants harsher punishment in the juvenile court they are bringing all cases to court that really don't merit the expense. Harsher punishment should be considered for crimes like murder or something close to that nature.

Yes, harsher punishment of the parents who lost control of their child many years before. The majority of juvenile crimes are carried out by children who had no strong family network. Children are allowed to go unchecked for fear of retalliation and child endangerment charges.
Big brother won't allow us to spank our children without fear of criminal charges against us!! This is not going to change overnight, but all the parents of all the tiny babies can make a decision tonite. A decision to be the parent and make the family and home a safehaven of love and respect. I was brought up knowing full well that if I disrespected my parents (much less anyone else) my @ss was in a heap of trouble!! I'm now 42 and you wouldn't dare catch me backtalking my dad to this day...he'd probably backhand me.....and have every right to!
To get back to the question, for the juveniles in the system now, stiffer penalties may very well be in order, so long as this includes intense resocialization classes. But the future will only improve and brighten if parents take back control of the family!! Supurb question!

the sexual abuse of toddlers.. the youngster is oftenly altered for existence and challenged by technique of a difficulty that became previous their administration.. the criminal receives a loose pass with probation or a suspended sentence for a first offense.. a short reformatory time period for the 2d and they finally get severe for the 0.33.. Do you quite imagine being registered as a sex criminal protects toddlers from those twisted persons? young children are everywhere.. and so are the perverts searching for a undemanding objective. Why can't the criminal equipment confirm this out? Rape of a teen is often the equivalent of a existence sentence for a criminal offense the youngster did not even commit.. why might want to or not that is something a lot less for the creep that actual did it? .. placed them away.. reformatory then psychological facility.. do not provide them 3 opportunities to break 3 (or more effective) lives.. needed sentences for first time offenders.. this would provide them a chance to well known that they want some habit change. Throw away the most important for repeat offenders, that they had a chance to modify.

Well as a juvenile offender myself when I was 13 I started to go down the wrong path and I feel that if in fact that the punishments were harsher I wouldn't have gotten in as much trouble as I did. I was always let off with a slap on the wrist and some of the things I did was pretty bad considering my age especially and so I learned that because of my age I could get away with alot and never got in much trouble with it and also if my family was more involved with and giving me strict rules to obey than I'd have thought much more one what I did and what road I chose to go on. So in conclusion yes the punishments out there do need to be much harsher because there are hard headed people out there like me and they wont learn because they always get off easily.

There should be harsh punishment of the juveniles' parents. The kids have probably never heard of accountability or responsibility. If their parents have not taught them, why should we expect them to know.
I don't know why so many people had so many children that they don't want because of their demonstrated actions of not taking care of them. That is the REAL question....and the real problem.
Oh yeah, if the "children" are committing the crime, they are old enough to do the time. This 'age' thing is full of crap.

there needs to be more rehabilitation of all criminals instead of just locking them up then one day setting them free to commit crime again. for juveniles we need a better education system, more teachers, more after school programs, more gang violence control, crack down on drugs, diversion programs, counseling for those heading down the wrong path, and way more people to volunteer to be a mentor of low income kids as a big brother or sister though many middle income and rich kids commit crimes the kids from the poorer areas do it more from need and the desire to get the money any way they can

Not sure.
What I certainly know is that many laws enacted to protect children have now created uncontrollable monsters. Kids are too empowered. We see behaviors now that we hardly saw decades ago.
So, leave it to the same agencies to figure out how to handle the runaway horses now
