Exodus 20:3-5 You shall have no other Gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters.
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God punishing the children for the sin of the Fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.

If you believe in God then you would know that there is a commandment that states that you should have no other gods before him. And I'd say that this means before, after and even next to him.

Try to think of the world without the idea of unity. Can you even form one sensible thought in your mind without the idea of a unity . . . without the idea of "one"? If you cannot, then it's clear that our thought about anything and everything depends on the idea of One, though we cannot get that idea from anything experienced. Without a prior understanding of unity, our experience is just an endless stream of incomprehensible noise (and not even that, really). So, where do we get this idea of One? Indeed, where does reality get its unity?

If your mind and the world receive the reality of unity from the divine, then that divine must possess such a unity itself. The highest must itself be one . . . but it is not a unity like any other thing is a unity. Rather, it transcends both unity and multiplicity, the simple and the complex. God is the source of both.

So, you could worship powerful beings and call them gods, but these are not the ultimate. The ultimate, as ultimate, must be one.

That's what some Greeks and Romans believed: you've got Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, Apollo, etc. If you believe in Christianity though, I think the Bible says there's supposed to be just 1 God.

Your talking "Polytheism" - The belief that there are many gods in existence in the universe.

God is the only Supreme Being, there is only 1, it's illogical to have 2 or more God's.

It is rather ridiculous for you to think there are more than one God.
If there are a lot of Gods , there must be disagreement among themselves in administrating the world. Can you imagine how the world will look like, there will be total disorder on the earth. It might become a crazy world .

Good for you a open mind. But the word God has been misused as meaning only the Jewish or Christian one.
The CREATOR of ALL THINGS says that it has as many names as there are stars in the sky and grains of sand in all the oceans.
