Well what I am thinking is dying it (my first time! scary :-/) dark brown with faded black tips. Also maybe getting it layered a little more, and a bit shorter - not much though. Anyways, tell me what you think.

stylist here, as for the color...yes, but not to dark at the root or your skin will look goth, stay warmer and gradually get rich with depth. as for the layers, know what you want before you go. best bet, find a pic or two you really like and if you trust your stylist understands and can do this roll with it. changes like this are a blast, its like a whole new woman emerges. know that with haircolor change comes makeup change. change the tones to blend smoothly. ROCK IT GIRL!!!!

It's hard to see the color cause it's too dark. From what I can see though, you do seem to need some depth. I would do it slowly as far as the color and Please go to a professional. You will spend more money, but if you mess up your hair and then go...it then becomes a hair color correction and is going to cost you a small fortune. I don't like doing black, but as long as it's on the tips its okay, Black is THE hardest color to get out and most people eventually want it out.
Ask for a consultation at a salon. Ask if they charge, some do and some don't. Get ideas and go with what you and the stylist agree on. Just make sure both of you are on the same page and you get the time of day from the stylist. If you don't then ...run! FAST! Find someone you like and don't hesitate to keep looking.

Okay... If that's what you want to do, I say go for it. But, I honestly think you should go lighter instead of darker. Your skintone would look great! As far as cutting... If I were doing your hair I would definitely cut it a little shorter, about shoulder length, and put in some really choppy layers with the razor. But, this is only an opinion and you know what the say about those... Good Luck with whatever you decide to do!

I think no matter what you do, you will look great. You are a pretty girl to begin with. Layering a little more would look really good on you. I agree, going a little shorter would be good too. Happy makeover!
