G'day Prem K,
Thank you for your question.
Yes. Yoghurt contains so-called good bacteria and helps with pathogenic or bad bacteria. It also helps you break down lactose within the stomach.
I have attached sources for your reference.

I tried one of these yoghurt drinks that's supposed to top up your healthy bacteria for one week and ended up with a very upset stomach. I believe these are being questioned now in the press for their claimed health benefits.
How are your bowels? People with gastric problems, heartburn, etc usually can sort things with a colon cleanse. If the bowels are full, then everything else starts to get backed up, causing excess wind, heartburn, etc. You can buy colon cleansing pills from your local health store.

Gastritis is an inflammation, irritation, or erosion of the lining of the stomach. It can occur suddenly (acute) or gradually (chronic). What Is the Treatment for Gastritis? Treatment for gastritis usually involves: Taking antacids and other drugs to reduce stomach acid, which causes further irritation to inflamed areas. Avoiding hot and spicy foods. For gastritis caused by H. pylori infection, your doctor will prescribe a regimen of several antibiotics plus an acid blocking drug (used for heartburn). If the gastritis is caused by pernicious anaemia, B12 vitamin shots will be given. Eliminating irritating foods from your diet such as lactose from dairy or gluten from wheat. Once the underlying problem disappears, the gastritis usually does, too. You should talk to your doctor before stopping any medicine or starting any gastritis treatment on your own.

Yes, natural yoghurt. Not the sugar stuff labled yoghurt.
You can get plain yoghurt and add your own flavour. It is better/more beneficial than the pre -flavoured ones. With the exception of some that are sweetened with fruit juice instead of sugar.
