I cancelled my cable but want to get "off-air" channels on my TV in the basement. My upstairs TV has simple homemade "rabbit-ears" and we get 15 channels really clearly. But I'm worried the basement won't get as good reception so I want to buy a really good antennae but one that is still simple to install. I need suggestions please.

If you plan to use an indoor antenna in the basement good luck. TV signal for the most part is line of site. In other words obstructions between the transmitting antenna and your receiving antenna can and will block the signal. Different kinds of obstructions are worse than others. Steel is worse than wood and earth is one of the worst. No matter what antenna you buy for your basement it may not work. If the signal is not there it's not there. A simple easy to install outdoor antenna can be found at http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/1073325.html

This is an excellent page to help understand TV signal characteristics and what you can expect at your location. http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/1496626.html check it out it's worth reading. Best of luck!
