I bet it's about 50/50.
Half the people thinking they make a hot cartoon version of themselves and the other half making an avatar in a fantasy version of themselves.

Well My Avatar doesn't look like me exactly. But I do have about the same skin color and hair color (just a bit darker on the hair color). My eyes are Blue and the face shape is similar. I try to make my Avatar resemble me as much as possible. But if any one every wanted to see how I really looked then all they would have do is ask me if I could send them some pictures of how I really look.

Yeah mines look slike me excet my eyes arent THAT big. Ppl say my avatar looks sad, but i dont think so. Yeah my mom was amazed at how much my avatar loks like me. Oh yeah another difference is that i have warm red tones in my complextion and my avatar is like a pale brown.
But yeah i guess the thing like most about avatar is that you can create a version of yourself with out letting people see a real you, so its alot safer...

Mine is complete misrepresentation. I couldn't find one that wasn't early as fat and ugly as the real me. So I decided to make mine Cute and adorable, so very different from what I am in real life. Who wouldn't do that same if they looked like me?.

mine does....i'm black but i'm real light skinned and the fourth from the last one is the closest to my color i could find. i think some people on here are lying, and just try to make their avatars looks really pretty

my avator looks like the REAL me!!!!exept my eyes have a tiny bit of a blue color and but they are more green U can only see the blue if U look close!!!
