Friends of mine are trying to find ways to head up a Singles Mingles here in NC near our area. Have found others are wanting a full time Location (coffee shop) where singles in the ages of 35-55 can go and meet other singles, besides pubs and churches. If anyone has any GOOD ideas on how to go about this and who I can contact, please share. There are so many single lonely people out there looking for a place to hook up with other single lonely people. Only need a good location and know how to go about getting everyone together...thanks for your ideas and help with this...

It sounds like you know how to organize the group but are just looking for a venue. Is that right? If so, read on.

I would start small. Check with coffee shop owners in your area and see if they would be willing to have a special night for singles in the age range you are targeting. I suspect a shop owner would like this sort of thing -- more paying customers would be likely to show up. If you find an owner who is OK with the idea, tell all your single friends about it to make sure as many people as possible come out. If it works, you could try doing it weekly. If it continues to go well, and you can demonstrate that there's a big market for it, then get your information together and try to present it to a bunch of coffee shops in your area. If you don't have any takers, consider putting a business plan together and opening a singles coffee shop as a group.

Full-time coffee shop for singles might be a stretch, though. What about asking a shop owner to set aside a table (or two) for your group?

If you're looking for ways to organize a singles group on the web (for free!), check out the sites below.

Feel free to IM me if you'd like to discuss any of this further.

Good luck! :)
