In my opinion, I really didn't care for Duran at middleweight. The bigger Duran got the more he lost, although he had tremendous talent. The one thing that Duran did better than anyone and nobody could come close to him is, his head roll when a punch landed on him. Durans hair was thin so whenever he got hit with a shot he would roll his head in the opposite direction of the punch and his hair would fly all over the place and it made it look like the punch landed solidly but it had little or no effect.
Carl Olson was a plodder when he fought, he would go along and try to out-work his opponent, he had problems with fighters that liked to move a lot Sugar Ray Robinson was one of them. The majority of his fights took place in Hawaii and some experts say "Some of his wins were indeed questionable" Olson had decent power and used his jab effectively.
Bobo would win this fight by a split decision, he would be able to out-muscle the naturally smaller Duran and since Bobo fought successfully at higher weights often times hurting the bigger men, he would have the edge in power. Another thing that Olson had going for him was, he was always in great shape and he could end a 15 round fight on fresh legs. Early in his career when he got his first shot at Sugar Ray Robinson he didn't train properly and he got tired in the later rounds and lost that fight he vowed "I'll never get tired like that again as long as I have gloves on."
Duran was a great fighter at lightweight and welterweight. Duran was a good fighter at middleweight. It's not so much that Olson was a better fighter than Duran, because he wasn't, he was just the bigger man and a good fighter and you know what they say when a good little man fights a good big man, "The big man always wins" (Not in all cases but deffintely here)

Natural Middle vs. a natural Lightweight. Olson wins because of his size advantage and having just enough boxing skill to get by. By this I mean just enough to beat an obviously better but smaller fighter in Duran. Olson by a very very close split decision.

Bobo got hit often and really too often for the likes of fighting some one likeDuran. I once talked to a boxer who fought Duran in an exhibition and he told me he had never got hit with such heavy hands in his life. Bobo was a plodder but you can only plod in so long when you're getting hit extra hard, extra often I'll take Duran in ten.

i have to agree with santana. duran would make it a very competitive fight, but at middleweight was at the limit of his physical grasp. should be an entertaining fight. duran would connect solidly at times, but not enough to keep olson from taking a split decision

NO MAS! NO MAS!

I'll take Duran because he was one of the hardest hitting boxers in history.
