Girl I don't think you have anything to worry about. If he is sneaking out to make phone calls to you then he misses you. Basic training is very hard on everyone that goes through it. A lot of the people I went through basic with got "Dear John" letters or worse then that when it came time for graduation day their loved ones just never showed up. All you can do is be there for him right now it is a really tough time.

I can not disagree more with the guy who says the military does not want a family man. They definitely want a family man because a family man needs a check every month to support his family. Family men re-enlist. A single guy can go a while without a job and get by.
The Army does want you to be able to get along with out your spouse because you WILL be separated at some time in is tour in the Army. You DO need to be able to trust each other.
Soon you will be back with your husband and a few years from now when your husband comes back from a 6 month or year long deployment you will think it was funny that you thought that basic training was so long.

How long have you been married? How old are the both of you? This sounds like very immature behavior. Even taking into consideration that he is away from home (and you) and probably scared of what the future may bring, it doesn't explain or excuse him if he is deliberately trying to make you jealous. I suggest you ask him point-blank exactly what he is trying to say.
Lord knows I sure as hell can't figure it out. What language is that?!?
Get in touch with some other military wives. They can help you get through this challenging time in your relationship. Your husband probably just needs some reassurance that YOU aren't cheating on HIM.

Basic training doesn't allow for a lot of free time. What time there is, is usually spent in such a state as to disallow much of anything.
Is it possible that he is equally worried about what you're up to?
Good luck. Keep lines of communication open. You'll both get through the changes if you keep your acts together. You'll know if you can't take it anymore, but don't give up without working for the best results.
And remember, he, too, is under pressure.

If I understand you correctly - I think the guy is feeling insecure. Basic will do that till he gets over the hump. You simply reassure him you love him now as much as ever.., and let him get the tension off his chest.
Basic Training is some seriously tough business both physically and mentally. Especially mentally. Just try to understand if he sounds a little lost and worried.
Anyways - thats what I am reading into what you said.

They talk about jody all the time at basic.
Reassure him there is noone else for you but him. Tell him you're proud of him and maybe the wierd vibe is just you missing him.
Tell him you can't wait to see him again - he'll really be buff when he gets out...

I think he misses you too. Jody is the name of the generic scumbag who preys on soldiers' wives prompting them to send "Dear John" letters. Right now he is just really stressed. God bless you both!
