I've seen movies that have this type of line, and when it is usaully said by the men, it means that they are interested about you, and hope htye will see you again, althoug not sure when; where or how, and the smile is a sign that means they hope they do.

Means they don't intend to call on you again and they are nervous saying that. That is why they are smiling. It's a nervous smile. Move on. If it's a guy, stop trying to psychoanalyze it. They mean what they say. Pure and simple. Just move on.

It depends on the situation. It may be someone who is going to pass away and by smiling, they are ok with passing. If its a friend, it could mean that they have a surprise visit awaiting you.

It probably means that they are stalking you, watching you all the time, and have memorized your entire routine and are being sarcastic with the smile, because they know EXACTLY when they will see you again....

If you can't understand why someone looks the way they look, just go with what they said. If the person that said this to you expects you to read his or her mind then that's their problem. Not many people can read minds, lol. Just concentrate on what the person SAID to you.
