from my personal experiences with hairdressers, my hair never turned out the way i wanted. so i figured i could cut my hair myself plus it would be free. trusting a stranger with your hair is a big thing so i just leave it up to myself. plus when you ask for a trim, they somehow hack off three or four inches : /

Some people just don't trust hairdressers and sometimes for good reason. Stylists are well known for cutting off way too much or not discussing it with the client. I always talk about how much and show them how much I am cutting off. I never cut of more than what I have permission to cut. I do as little as 1/8" if that's what they want. Some just don't want to spend the money. Some think they can do a better job and if they do mess it up...it's their own fault.

Some people prefer to cut their own hair. I cut my own because I know exactly how I want it cut. If I go to a Salon, they could cut too much off or cut it crooked and then charge me 20 bucks.

I have always cut my own hair and I can't complain if I mess it up. lol
I don't do that anymore but I;d be lying if I said I hadn't.
I used to go to salons (20 years) ago but every time I left I hated my hair. To trim to a lot of beauticians means 5 inches....EEEk!
I will definitely say that my very very worst hair cut i have ever had was done my wonderful 2 year old(at the time) son. *scratches her head* I WAS SLEEPING! LOL

Depends on the situation. And SOMETIMES they are actually good at cutting their own hair....

for me personally..its because i can.
it always turns out better than going to the salon.
some hairdressers think customers dont know a thing..
but the catch is..
its our hair..our particular style that we wanna achieve..
if i cant get that from a hairdresser..
who else can i depend on except myself..
over time u will learn the techniques just by observing..
that's how i got better..
but if Ur among the lucky ones
who have a hairdresser hu understands
and listens..and u get wat u want..
keep her or him..
for my case..
im still searching..
till den..
ill be cutting my own hair..

cuz there to cheap to pay someone to do it if its money in my town they only charge 5 bucks at the beauty college and i got my hair cut there it alway turns out good
