How can I learn to repair televisions and monitors.?

Can I learn this on my own with books, or do I need to go to a vocational school and learn all about electrical engineering.

u need to learn basic electronics first, then after that go into the specific circuitry. most things in a TV can be explained by basic electronics, but other things like what a video signal looks like, how a flyback transformer works, can be learnt from books.

you'd have to learn the new stuff to be in demand,, that's LCD stuff mainly. I've met a few self tought techs, they are interesting, but I would recommend basic electronics courses,, most community colleges have them.
