No, we often don't recall doing things that we do so often that we don't have to think about doing them. These things become such a habit that we don't have to think about doing it. Just like breathing. You haven't forgotten how to breathe, you just don't have to think about doing it. You put your ipod on hold so much it is something you can do without thinking.

You could try exercise, give up the obvious, smoking drinking etc.. I sometimes have the same problem, but I've always been that way.. My job is very mentally challenging, I have to be able to hold a lot of different things in my mind about what I'm going to install and things that will be installed later.. fractions, degree's of angles, everything is three dimensional.. It can drive me nuts sometimes, but I just relax when I get stumped, work on some other part of what I'm doing.. when I come back to what had me stumped, I can usually remember... Anyway, relaxing is the key.

You didn't mention how old you are but sounds like you did good on the short term memory test. Age and medication play a part in memory loss, but from the results of your memory test I would say you are okay.
