( sorry i have to abbreviate to fit all the question there )
i know for a fact that American children are probably the ones with more resources in the world when it comes to education . i also know for a fact that many kids from countries which receive little to nothing from their governments are doing a lot better than those American kids . i am not blaming the kids but i believe that we as a society are failing to first educate them right and that second we are leaving their education on the hands of computers . maybe if we put the resources in the right places we wouldn't even need a computer in the first place , maybe if we made ourselves responsible for their education we wouldn't be looking for excuses .

In one way you are right. It is true technology has pretty much made American students... dumber. One evidence of this is our present and our history. Many immigrants do come to the U.S. to strive for a better education which was never provided in their home land, but there are also those who do not aim for that education. There are many who just go to school to cause chaos and distractions for other students, and get involved in gangs and of the likes. Simply, immigrants aren't really to blame.

Well, I've seen estimates I cannot verify that 40% of the students in the overcrowded, ESL drained Los Angeles school district are illegally here or are children of people illegally here. If that is true, than the billions being spent on new schools would be unnecessary, and the many programs that have been cut since I went through those schools as a child could be put back, were those illegally here not here.
Look at the demographics at greatschools.net for test scores and school ESL learner populations. Gangs also, another problem at schools, are heavily fed by illegal immigrants and their children. Classes in middle school not uncommonly have 43 children or more in them.
So tell me, why do you suggest they do NOT impact schools?

The illegal immigrants flood the schools and since they do not usually speak English, they bring down the level of instruction for the entire classes that they are in. The classes have to slow down to accommodate the children who don't speak English, and the teachers end up spending a larger proportion of time on the non-English speaking students. As well, most illegal immigrants do not pay income taxes and so they are not contributing to the cost of education. I don't think the problem really has anything to do with computers in the schools. Technology is the way things are these days in this world and it is of utmost importance that our children are educated using the most up-to-date technology.

because its easier to blame them that admitt its the parents fault for not encouraging their kids to get an education.or taking at least a day off to attend a parent/teacher conference or maybe turning off the tv and bothering to help them with their homework or at least ask what they are doing in school.low quality of the school as a bit to do with it but comeon if a child is determined enough to get an education it doesn't matter what resources were offered to him/her as long as they used it to their full potential.and must agree that though i'm in favor of technology i believe nowadays too many kids have become too dependent on using it.whenever u have children downloading book reports off the net yet not even being able to name anything that william shakespear wrote then we tend to have a problem.

The children deserve a education they also deserve to be treated like adults. America needs to change its child labor laws so children under the age of 14 can put in a 40 hour week. They will most likely outwork their lazy American parents.

Perhaps if schools stuck with education rather than indulging in social engineering and paid the teachers rather than the administrators, the quality of schools might increase.
