I was referring to a person who was shot in Kent, England not the one in Ohio that happened way back in the 70's

Nick C: just some more fyi, a lot of kids start college in the USA at 17. My nephew has about 4 partial music and academic scholarships and goes to a state school, and my brother pays big. To have a car, car insurance, gas,a date now and then my nephew works like a dog. Some of his friends have 2 jobs, none of his friends are wealthy.

The real reason for the controversy is the fact that the British have been systemmatically disarmed and neutered over the past 8 or 9 decades and so firearms are not a part of the culture here.
Now that violent crime is rising, thanks in part to uncontrolled immigration from African states and Jamaica, and criminals are carrying guns, it is becoming increasingly necessary for some members of the police force to be armed. When they shoot and kill, as in the case of the alledged bank robber, the media goes hysterical. However I have a feeling that the average man in the street would approve of the robber being shot.
We are being slowly and surely undermined by left wing liberals. It is a rot in British society.

Like usual the media blows everything out of proportion. I say shoot all these morons. If you want to carry a gun and commit crime then expect to be shot. Society will be better off without these oxygen thieves. Same goes if your running away from the cops carrying a rucksack, after coming out of house under survellience for terrorism and running into a tube station 2 weeks after suicide bombers just killed a bunch of people, if you don't think there might be serious consequences to this, then you're a freaking idiot!! Everybody would be singing a different tune if he had hesitated and they illegal immigrant had a bomb and killed a bunch more people!!
To Kent state guy: You obviously never took geography eh. and can't read either, this is UK&Ireland answers. and Yanks wonder why everyone thinks they're dumb as.ses.
Partner: For starters unlike the majority of buffoons in this country, I have never voted Labour, I have always known they were a bunch of ball lickin, scum bags, but now I can tell everyone I know, I told you so. He's in University in the USA, he's probably in his twenties, his parents probably pay for his school, because even 2 jobs wouldn't pay your tuition to Kent State. In fact Kent State is considered to be one of the better schools in the USA, so you have to be fairlly bright to go there to begin with, in ALL subjects. I'm sure he's a big boy/girl, and can handle a little criticism, and if they can't well they best get used to it, because when they're out in the real world they are going to find it common, especially in the USA. They are not a bunch of soft as.ses like over here. I will concede I shouldn't have called yanks dumb as.ses, because not all of them are. Point taken.

The Officer who shot a bank robber in Kent (England) was the same policeman who shot an innocent man on the London Underground because he thought the man was a Terrorist, when in fact the man was visiting family here in the UK.
There was uproar here because the family could not take action against the police for the wrongful killing of the young man and,the police officer was not prosecuted.
The same police Officer is now under investigation for killing the suspected bank robber.
A lot of people in the UK are concerned that it is the same police officer and are asking questions.

Its controversial because the media are having a slow day!
In the UK if you carry a weapon, then as far as the police and other criminals are concerned, you intend to use it. If you cannot be persuaded to give the gun up, you will be shot. Its simply the chance you take. Everyone in the UK knows this. They cannot pretend otherwise. The marksman is simply doing his job.

Its only a contoversy in the media.
He made a mistake with the first shooting but this one he was doing what he was trained to do. The armed robber had just opened fire on the police!
Of course he was going to kill someone again thats what he's trained and paid to do.
It would be more of a contoversy if his mistake with Jean charles affected his work and he failed to act this time thus causing the loss of innocent peoples lives

Yes, I think because of what happened to the Brizilian guy who was shot even though he was innocent and it just so happens to be the same shooters in Kent they assume he is innocent aswell. These guys are trying to protect us why should we slate them so what if it's the same shooters, are we going to have this every time they shoot some one. I agree with you mate

there was not one shooter at kent state.. it was the national guard (more than one)... the students were rioting against the war (they claimed that pres. nixon did not consult congress before declaring it), the national guard couldn't keep students under control, this went on for days, eventually, (it is very controversial whether the n. guard was supposed to shoot or not... probably not!).. but, 4 students were killed, some not even involved.
